Anonymity is Fleeting

I already have a blog, a couple actually. And they both face a certain degree of neglect as it is. So why start another?

Well, none of my blogs are anonymous. They are read by various family members and friends and well, sometimes that makes what I actually post somewhat sensitive. And instead of continuing along the censorship train, why not just create a separate, secret persona? Well, it made sense at the time. I was possibly just suffering some kind of heat-induced delusion.

We'll see.

  1. My blog was a semi private affair until my Mum had to suddenly go into palliative care. In order to stop the phone ringing off the hook and giving me the shits I gave every man and his dog my blog address. One of Mum's work mates even gave everyone at her work my URL. ALL the rellies had it as well. It took a bit of getting used to as I had gone from having a space that was mine, to my blog being a very public thing.

A lot of people who had my blog URL were non-bloggers so I copped a fair bit of flak about "writing on the internet" After my mum died and I needed to write out my grief I copped even more flak some of it was very nasty and very, very vicious.

Nothing ever can prepare you for the horribleness that is having your blog which was a place of solace and joy turn into a place that you dread checking on in the mornings.

I thought about starting a private blog but I really couldn't be fucked and at the end of the day I needed the positive support from my blog community to help me in my grief.

So I understand the need to write anonymously very well.

    cheers Kim

ps can you fix the settings so that I can comment with my blog url instead of my google account.

  2. I thought about this too, but like Kim above, I just couldn't be bothered. I did find a blog where you can submit your posts anonymously to anonymous mum or something like that, so I could always use that if ever I need a vent that I don't want people IRL to see, but it hasn't come to that yet.

Good luck with this blog, I hope it gives you the outlet you need!
